Hospice Seeking ‘Friends’
Hospice of Chesterfield County has started a “Friends of Hospice” initiative to help raise funds to meet the growing needs for hospice care in Chesterfield and Marlboro counties. As a community-based, non-profit organization, Hospice of Chesterfield County maximizes its resources to provide the highest quality and compassionate care to our area’s terminally ill residents.
In the past 10 years, Hospice of Chesterfield County’s patient care days have increased 240% from 5,428 to 18,458. This increase in the utilization of our services has also resulted in an increase in the amount of indigent care we provide. Just as we have done for the past 17 years, Hospice of Chesterfield County remains steadfast in its mission to provide loving care to all terminally ill residents regardless of their ability to pay.
Funds raised through “Friends of Hospice” will also be used to help with our new Transitions program. This program provides care and assistance to terminally ill residents and their families who are not yet ready for traditional hospice care. We are pleased to offer the Transitions program to our area and look forward to the loving difference it will make in many lives.
You may join “Friends of Hospice” for a donation of $20 or more to Hospice of Chesterfield County. Each member will receive a decal for display in your car, home or business window. In addition to joining “Friends of Hospice,” you may make a “Compassionate Friend Gift” of $140 or more to pay for one-day of indigent care for a local terminally ill residents. Those making “Compassionate Friend Gifts” will also receive two Hospice of Chesterfield County shirts. The decals and shirts are expressions of our appreciation for your support and help promote our services in the community. Also, civic and church groups and businesses are welcomed to join.
